Our Bearded Dragon Babies
Through our Re-homing service we were contacted to take in some Bearded Dragon eggs that were due to be laid as they were unable to incubate themselves.
We went to collect them the day they were laid and upon returning home placed them immediately in our incubator. There they remain for approximately 3 months until the first signs of hatching started. After the first dragon popped his head out of his egg, the rest soon followed.
They were easy to remove once fully hatched as they were exhausted from the whole process. We quickly and carefully removed each dragon and placed them in individual tubs for 24 hours to allow them to sleep and get their strength up. By the next day they were all active, alert and running around in their tubs.
We removed them from their tubs and placed them in a large viv together, where they remained until they were big enough to get new homes.
Whenever you have a bunch of baby beardies together, it is impossible to not laugh and be glued to watching them for hours. They are very inquisitive and love to explore but they go about it sometimes in such a funny way you can't help but be amused.
By the time they were 3 weeks old, they were used to the human hand and would often cling onto your finger or sit on it. Before too long they were all used to human contact and enjoyed coming out of the viv for a little fuss. By 8 weeks old they were ready to be re-homed.
It was hard to say goodbye to them when they were sold to new families, but you can share in the memories by watching the slideshow below and view photos and videos of these great little guys.
