2013 Clutch #1
And we're off.... 1st clutch of the season. Fingers crossed we have a little Fire Fly inside one of these!
Date Laid: 5th May 2013
Sire: Pastel
Dam: Fire
Eggs Laid: 6
Date Hatched: 6th July 2013
Fantastic odds again to hit on 4 fireflies in this clutch. Sadly it did come at a price though. We lost one egg towards the end of the incubation period and we also had one baby fire that sadly did not make it due to a twisted umbilical cord. We were able to untangle it but sadly due to being very weak the baby died later that day. To see more photos of these stunning Fireflies, click on this clutch picture.

2013 Clutch #2
Our long awaited Albino and 100% het Albino Clutch.
Date Laid: 27th May 2013
Sire: Albino
Dam: 100% Het Albino
Eggs Laid: 6
Date Hatched: 22nd July 2013
Such a lovely sight to look in on the eggs and find a little albino head peeking out of an egg!
Odds should be 50% albino 50% hets but we didn't quite make half and half. Regardless though, we have 2 stunning Albinos and 4 gorgeous 100% het Albinos. To see more photos of these stunning babies, click on this clutch picture.

2013 Clutch #3
Hoping for a Bumble Bee in this clutch.
Date Laid: 1st July 2013
Sire: Spider
Dam: Citrus Pastel
Eggs Laid: 6
Date Hatched: 26th August 2013
I was surprised to see a little head belonging to a pastel poking itself out of an egg this morning. They don't often arrive bang on time, usually a day or two over the expected hatch date.
Once we see the 1st snake poking through we pip the rest of the eggs. Always an exciting time seeing what you have and it was lovely to see 2 pastels, a normal and 3 bumblebees!!

2013 Clutch #4
Fingers are tightly crossed hoping for a Blue Eyed Lucistic in this clutch!
Date Laid: 8th July 2013
Sire: Lesser Platinum (and bred to Mojave male 10 months prior)
Dam: Mojave
Eggs Laid: 5, 1 collapsed 3 weeks into incubation and went bad.
Date Hatched: 8th and 11th September 2013
This was a funny clutch as 2 of the 4 eggs were a bit behind the other 2. They were already a week over due and 2 of the eggs were really collapsed, so we cut those 2 and were greeted with a little Lesser and our long awaited Blue Eyed Lucistic! The other 2 eggs were collapsing more and more each day and 3 days later we had another Lesser and a normal. All really chunky hatchlings too!
