Our Tarantula Collection
Shortly after we purchased our very first Reptile - a hatchling corn snake - we soon after bought our first Tarantula. We bought the most known and highly recommended species for 1st time owners - a Chillian Rose, and named her Eddie. Since then we have gone on to own many more and many different species of Tarantula. Eddie is the only one that was lucky enough to get a name as once your collection grows and grows, it is hard coming up with names for all your pets!
We have not attempted to breed any of our T's as yet but this is something that we are looking into and hope to have some further updates on this later on in the year.
We bought some spiderlings in early 2010, 2 curlies and a Mexican Red Rump. They have been fascinating to watch and grow. They started out the size of your little finger nail when they arrived, and it has been amazing to watch their fast growth rate and developement, and the spiderlings are now almost on par with some of our adults!
By May 2011, things were really taking off with our Royal Pythons and we made the decision to find new homes for our Tarantulas so that we could devote more time to the projects we had going with our Royal Pythons. All have now been re-homed except for our male Chillian Rose which we decided to keep.
